Program Overview


Introduction to the ERASMUS Program

The Institute of Geosciences at the University of Mainz participates in the ERASMUS mobility program, offering exchange opportunities for students with universities in Reykjavik (Iceland), Gˆteborg (Sweden), Graz (Austria), Milan (Italy), Barcelona, and Oviedo (Spain).


Program Details

  • The ERASMUS program allows for a study abroad period of up to 12 months within an academic year.
  • To be eligible for an ERASMUS scholarship, students must have completed at least two semesters of study and be enrolled in a regular degree program in Geosciences.

Application and Selection Process

  • The application deadline for an ERASMUS scholarship is January 31st for the following academic year.
  • Applications must include a curriculum vitae, proof of academic achievement, and a letter of motivation.
  • Selection criteria include previous academic performance, language skills, subject-specific competence, knowledge of the host country, and personal motivation.
  • Evaluation takes place during an application interview.
