Program Overview


Introduction to the Deutsch-Französische Studiengänge Mainz-Dijon

The Deutsch-Französische Studiengänge Mainz-Dijon is a unique academic program that offers students the opportunity to earn two nationally recognized degrees from both German and French universities. The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive education in the humanities and cultural sciences, as well as intercultural competence.


Bachelor of Arts / Licence

The Bachelor of Arts / Licence program is a binational degree program that allows students to study at both the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz and the University of Burgundy in Dijon. The program is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the humanities and cultural sciences, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in both German and French.


Studienaufbau

The program is structured to allow students to spend half of their study time in Germany and the other half in France. The first year is spent at the home university, followed by a year at the partner university. The third year is spent at the partner university, including a mandatory internship. The final year is spent back at the home university.

Studienfächer

The program offers ten possible combinations of subjects for students starting in Mainz and eight possible combinations for students starting in Dijon. The compulsory subject of French or German can be chosen as a core subject or a secondary subject.

Voraussetzungen

To be admitted to the program, students must have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as proof of French language proficiency at the B2 level. Students must also demonstrate a high level of motivation and flexibility, as the program requires students to spend time studying abroad.

The application process for the Bachelor of Arts / Licence program takes place through the Studierendenservice of the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz.


Finanzielle Förderung

Students in the program may be eligible for financial support through the Deutsch-Französische Hochschule (DFH) or the ERASMUS+ program. The DFH offers a monthly stipend of 350 euros for students spending time abroad.
