Executive MBA Program
The Executive MBA program at GSB Mainz is an extra-occupational online master's degree program aimed at subjects and managers in companies and public institutions, as well as the self-employed and freelancers. The program's objective is to enable participants to take on demanding management tasks in companies and public institutions.
Program Profile
The program focuses on the targeted application of new technologies and provides a profound understanding of how these can be used for future-oriented, sustainable management. It also emphasizes personal development, enabling participants to become leaders who can take on leadership responsibilities on an international scale responsibly and successfully.
Format
The Executive MBA is an online master's degree program with three one-week attendance phases at the University of Mainz. The program consists of an introduction week, five required modules, four required elective modules, and a module abroad at one of GSB Mainz's partner universities.

Teaching
The program emphasizes interactive knowledge transfer, with lecture units alternating with interactive group work and discussions. Case studies, planning, and role-playing games are used to gain knowledge and practice communication and teamwork skills.
Language
The Executive MBA is a German-language degree program with selected courses taught in English. A good knowledge of English is an indispensable prerequisite for successful participation.
Examinations
All required modules and at least two of the four required elective modules must be completed with an examination. Examinations usually take the form of exams or term papers.
Study Visits
Participants have the opportunity to take part in two one-week programs of study at top foreign universities. The study visits are an integral part of the study program and aim to develop an understanding of the challenges of a globalized economy.
Lecturers
The lecturers in the Executive MBA are mostly university professors with practical professional experience and proven practitioners in university teaching.
Fireside Chats
Participants have the opportunity to meet with high-ranking representatives from business or public life, offering a chance for direct dialogue and discussion.
Application
Admission requirements include:
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Seven years' work experience
- An admissions interview
Applicants without an undergraduate degree can take an aptitude test to demonstrate their intellectual and technical skills and corresponding professional expertise.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the Executive MBA program amount to 19,500 euros, including all teaching and learning materials and the costs for the course program of the compulsory study trip abroad.
