The Restaurierungspraktikum is a preparatory internship program designed for individuals interested in pursuing a degree in Conservation/Restoration at a university. The program typically lasts one year, commencing in September.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have completed their Abitur and demonstrate a genuine interest in studying Conservation/Restoration at a university.

Program Structure

The program offers a comprehensive and varied theoretical and practical preparation for university admission. The curriculum includes:

• Materialkunde (Materials Science)
• Pr‰ventive Konservierung (Preventive Conservation)
• Kunstgeschichte (Art History) Each week, a new theme is introduced, building upon previous topics. The program also allows sufficient time for the creation of an artistic portfolio and the documentation of work.

The program features closely supervised work phases, interspersed with independent work periods. This structure enables participants to develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive and engaging environment.
