The program in question is the Kunst Lehramt an Oberschulen, which is a teacher training program in art for upper schools.
Program Description
The program combines artistic-practical, art-pedagogical, and art-scientific training for teaching at upper schools. Students engage with art pedagogy, art theory, art history, and artistic production and reception. The program qualifies students to work independently with pupils, focusing on problem-solving strategies, communication forms, presentation techniques, and creative use of new media.
Program Structure
- The program is a nine-semester, full-time or part-time course of study.
- It includes 270 credit points (LP), with 80 LP for the subject and its didactics, 80 LP for a second subject, 35 LP for educational science modules, 15 LP for additional studies, 5 LP for the module "Body-Voice-Communication", and 30 LP for the final examination.
- The program also includes two school internships.
Admission Requirements
- Higher education entrance qualification (general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification)
- A phoniatric certificate is a mandatory requirement for enrollment.
- Language knowledge: Knowledge of a modern foreign language (preferably English) at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (by the end of the fourth semester).
- An aptitude test is required for this program.
