Introduction to the Master's Program in Giftedness Research and Competence Development

The Master's program in Giftedness Research and Competence Development is a university-based master's program that focuses on the topics of giftedness and competence development, as well as corresponding research fields.


Program Overview

The program is designed as a full-time, on-campus program, and the enrollment is done on the basis of a new module structure starting from the winter semester of 2023/24. Over four semesters, students study a total of 12 modules, which build structurally on each other. In each semester, three modules with one examination performance each are attended.

Admission Requirements

The general qualification for the program is proven by a first professionally qualifying university degree or by a degree from a state or state-recognized berufsakademie (e.g., bachelor's degree, teaching degree, or diploma/master's degree).


Language Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).


Application Process

The application process involves the following steps:


  • Application for a study place via the AlmaWeb portal (or uni-assist for international applicants)
  • Registration for the examination of subject-specific admission requirements by August 15th
  • Receipt of the notice of passing/failing the subject-specific admission requirements
  • Postal submission of the application for enrollment, including the notice of passing the subject-specific admission requirements, to the Student Secretariat by September 20th
