Program Overview

Wirtschaft-Technik-Haushalt/Soziales Lehramt Sonderpädagogik

The Lehramt study program in Wirtschaft-Technik-Haushalt/Soziales (Economics-Technology-Household/Social Sciences) provides students with subject-specific and practical knowledge, as well as skills in the areas of economics, household and nutritional sciences, and technology. Additionally, students acquire subject-related didactic competencies to convey this knowledge in a targeted manner for all-day and occupational orientation of children and adolescents.

Zugangsvoraussetzungen (Admission Requirements)

• Praktika (Internships):
  • Four-week social internship in a child, youth, or social facility
  • Two-week internship in areas such as wood and metal processing, construction, technology/electronics, horticulture and agriculture, gastronomy, or other WTH/S-associated areas
• Phoniatrisches Gutachten (Phoniatric Certificate)
• Sprachkenntnisse (Language Skills): No special language skills required

Aufbau des Studiums (Program Structure)

The program consists of 300 Leistungspunkte (LP) with a standard study period of ten semesters. This includes:

• 80 LP for the subject Wirtschaft-Technik-Haushalt/Soziales and its subject didactics
• 100 LP for two areas of focus
• 55 LP for educational sciences
• 25 LP for school practical studies
• 10 LP for additional studies
• 30 LP for final examinations

Berufliche Perspektiven (Career Prospects)

The program prepares students for a career as a teacher at special schools and/or in school integration. After completing the First State Examination, students are eligible to enter the preparatory service, which, upon completion of the Second State Examination, qualifies them to teach in the subject WTH/S or comparable subjects nationwide.
