Program Overview

University Program: Senior Studies

The Senior Studies is a program organized by the Senior Academy in collaboration with the institutes of the University of Leipzig. This program allows citizens aged 50 and above to attend lectures together with young students.

Program Structure

The program offers various courses during the winter and summer semesters. The courses available during the winter semester include:

• Lecture Introduction to Meteorology
• Lecture Synoptics (Synoptics)
• Weather Discussion Seminar
• Lecture General Circulation
• Lecture Applied Meteorology

Courses Offered

The following courses are available during the summer semester:

• Lecture Introduction to Climatology
• Lecture Meteorological Measurement Technology
• Lecture Fundamentals of Cloud Physics
• Lecture Atmospheric Boundary Layer

Master's Program Courses

The program also offers courses from the M.Sc. Meteorology program, including:

• Seminar Weather Discussion Seminar, in English, as part of the M.Sc. module)
• Lecture Climate of Polar Regions, in English, as part of the M.Sc. module)

Eligibility

The program is open to citizens aged 50 and above, who can attend lectures together with young students.
