Introduction to the Master of Arts in European Studies
The Master of Arts in European Studies is a multidisciplinary program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of Europe's role in the world. The program is designed to analyze the relationship between Europeanization and globalization, the impact of global developments on Europe, and the changing role of the continent in the new world order.

Admission Requirements
- Academic Background: A six-semester Bachelor's degree in history, cultural sciences, or social sciences, or a degree recognized as equivalent by law or by the relevant state authority.
- Language Proficiency: English language proficiency at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (C1 recommended).
- Aptitude Test: The existence of the aforementioned requirements is reviewed by the faculty and the mobility partner universities in the consortium. The subsequent decision made by the faculty serves as proof of the corresponding admission requirements. The application for the aptitude test is made through a separate portal. Program Content
The research-oriented and interdisciplinary transnational Master's program "European Studies" analyzes the past, present, and future role of Europe in the world. It differs from Bachelor's programs through the consistent implementation of multiperspectivity and the systematic anchoring in current research. The program combines various approaches to the topic and enables students to analyze and understand new developments in Europe in a creative and innovative way.
Structure of the Program
In this study program, students study the same modules regardless of the partner university, but can deepen local focuses. The study program includes integrated online courses offered jointly by all partner universities. The modules studied include:

- Europeanisation under the Global Condition History, Economics and Politics
- Europe and Law

- Regions in Europe
- Social Transformations in Europe

- Europe and Development Developmental Policies
- Global Challenges and European Answers
- Cultural Representation in Current European Societies
4. Semester
- Europeanization and Globalization
- Colloquium: Europe as a Global Actor
- Master Thesis

Internships and Study Abroad
As part of the studies, an internship can be completed, which is intended to establish content-related and personal connections to the future professional field. It can also provide the basis for a practice-relevant topic for the Master's thesis.
The study can be started at any partner university (Graz, Granada, Leipzig, and Vilnius). For the joint degree, at least one semester must be spent at one of the partner universities. This stay abroad can also be completed virtually.
