Why This Course?

This one-day workshop provides a 'taster' experience of art therapy processes. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about art therapy processes and how art therapy may apply in various health settings.


Course Content

The course will incorporate both theoretical and experiential learning, including:


  • Slide show presentations
  • Individual and paired art-making experiences
  • Group discussion The day will offer an overview of the key principles of art therapy, including the power of non-verbal expression, connecting to a creative self, and how different art materials can elicit a range of responses in participants.

You'll Learn

  • A basic understanding of art therapy processes, including through experiential and theoretical learnings
  • Please note that this short course will not qualify participants to practise art therapy with clients, rather it will offer an overview of what art therapy entails
