Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, graduates will have:
- Specialised knowledge of statistical and computational techniques and proficiency in their application for analysing and interpreting data sets
- Analytical problem solving to support data management and data-orientated decisions
- Specialised skills to use contemporary Big Data technologies
- Effective independent and collaborative work skills to apply specialised knowledge and expert judgement to data science
Admission Requirements
This program does not accept applications for admission. The Graduate Diploma in Data Science and Analytics is an exit award.

- Overall minimum: 6.5
- Sub test minimum: 6 All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement.
Program Requirements
To be awarded the Graduate Diploma in Data Science and Analytics, students must successfully complete 80 units comprised of:
- 40 units of Core courses
- 30 units of courses chosen from the Course List
- 10 units of Electives (can be at 3000, 4000 or 6000 level)

Transition Arrangements
From 2021 BIOS6050 and BIOS6150 were removed from the list of Group B Directed Courses. Students who commenced the Master of Data Science prior to 2021 and have completed BIOS6050 and/or BIOS6150 are permitted to count them as Group B Directed Courses for the Graduate Diploma in Data Science and Analytics.
