Program Overview

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Podiatry program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in podiatry, preparing them for a career in this field. This program is being discontinued and is no longer available to new students.

Description

Podiatrists have a varied and interesting job caring for feet. Foot pain affects the young and old, sedentary and active people alike and can cause pain in the lower back and other joints by changing how you stand, walk and run. Foot problems also occur in association with many chronic diseases, and podiatry intervention is vital to monitor and preserve foot health.

  • A current and in-depth knowledge of podiatry and the roles of a podiatrist.
  • The ability to work safely and effectively as a podiatrist.
  • The ability to contribute to and work effectively in multidisciplinary health teams with other practitioners.
  • The ability to identify and analyse complex problems within podiatry practice and develop solutions to these problems.
  • The knowledge and skills to perform in a socially responsible manner, to communicate complex concepts effectively, and to engage in life-long learning.
