Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum GPA of 2.0/4.0 or equivalent
- Satisfy the University's minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements
- Be nominated by their home university (for exchange students)
Application Procedure
The application process involves the following stages:
Stage One – Application
- Complete all relevant sections of the application form
- Attach supporting documents, including:
- Official academic transcript or evidence of highest completed qualification
- Evidence of English language proficiency
- Copy of passport (photo page)
Stage 2 – Offer
- The University of Newcastle reviews the application and contacts the applicant via email
- If successful, the applicant receives an Offer of Admission, which must be signed to finalize the application
Stage 3 – Deposit
- Pay the minimum deposit or full program fee within 7 days of receiving the offer
- Deposit amounts:
- Summer Down Under Program (Exchange) – 1 Course: A$699
- Summer Down Under Program (10 Units) – 1 Course: A$699
- Summer Down Under Program (20 Units) – 2 Courses: A$899
Stage 4 – Admission to the Program
- Once the signed offer and deposit are received, the applicant is matriculated into the Summer Down Under Program
- If course selection is specified, the University enrolls the student once enrollment opens
- If course selection is undecided, the University provides instructions on how to complete enrollment later
