Business Ethics (PHIL*2600)

Details

In this course, we look at ethical issues relevant to business from a variety of philosophical perspectives. The course is divided into three sections:


  • The first section studies the nature of morality, philosophical theories of ethics, and the relation between justice and the distribution of wealth.
  • The second section examines a number of ethical issues relevant to corporations and the capitalist system.
  • The third part of the course focuses on ethical aspects of working in business, including:
    • Civil liberties in the workplace
    • Inside trading
    • Whistleblowing
    • Employment equality
