Course Description
This course examines the basic properties and flow characteristics of fluids that control the entrainment and transport of sediment by air and water. Bedform development in fluvial, coastal, and aeolian environments is discussed in relation to fluid flow mechanics. Lectures are complemented by weekly labs using the wind tunnel, flume, and wave tank.
