Program Details
The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) program at Carleton University's Sprott School of Business is designed to develop employer-valued skills and experience in managing and understanding people and their work relationships at individual, group, and organizational levels.
Work Experience
The BCom program offers a co-op option, allowing students to test out career paths and organizations, build their professional network and resume, and earn money to offset costs. All BCom students will complete Sprott's Employability Passport, a four-year career development program that equips students with job-ready skills and self-awareness to find meaningful employment and career success.
Career Outcomes
The BCom program prepares students for careers in general management, management consulting, training and development, employee relations, and strategic human resources. Graduates have found rewarding careers across a variety of functions and sectors. Sprott offers a range of business career services, including an exclusive job portal, career advising, workshops, and employer events. Based on surveys of graduates, 92% of BCom respondents were employed within one year of graduation.

Sample Courses
- BUSI 1800 - Introduction to Business: Introduction to contemporary businesses in a complex economy, examining the various functions that define a business, with an emphasis on all forms of business communications.
- BUSI 4208 - Marketing Management: In-depth analysis and applications of the managerial aspects of marketing, including marketing strategy development and implementation theory and practice.
