Program Overview

The Bachelor of Information Technology in Network Technology is a program that teaches students to design, build, configure, and maintain internet and cellular networks. Graduates of the program earn both a Bachelor of Information Technology degree from Carleton University and a Computer Engineering Technology - Network Technology Ontario College Advanced Diploma from Algonquin College.

Program Details

The program teaches students about the physics of communications, network protocols, switching, routing, architecture, cyber security issues, and networked applications. Students benefit from a partnership with the Cisco Networking Academy and can earn internationally recognized and industry-standard professional certifications like the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).


Labs and Facilities

Students have access to state-of-the-art labs and facilities, including those provided by the Cisco Networking Academy.


Co-op

Carleton University offers a paid Co-op option with work terms of 4, 6, 8, 12, or 16 months.
