Elective Internship in Mental Health

The Internato Eletivo em Saúde Mental da FM UFRJ is a program designed for students in their 12th period who opt to take an elective in mental health.

Program Details

• The program has a workload of 28 hours per week and lasts for 11 to 12 weeks.
• The internship focuses on practical activities developed at the IPUB, including:
  • Duty
  • Wards
  • Adult outpatient clinic
  • Psychogeriatrics
  • Daily care center
• Mandatory activities include:
  • Psychopathology seminars
  • Psychopharmacotherapy
  • Principles of psychoanalysis
  • Art and psychiatry in the context of psychiatric reform
  • Territorial care
  • Psychosocial care
