Introduction to the 5th Edition of the Chinese Language Course

The 5th Edition of the Chinese Language Course is a collaborative effort between the Group of International Cooperation of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) and Hebei Normal University in China. This course aims to equip participants with the ability to speak Chinese at elementary and basic levels, as well as recognize commonly used ideograms, facilitating an understanding of the Chinese language and culture in social situations.

Objective

The primary objective of this course is to capacitate participants to communicate in Chinese, focusing on both spoken language and the recognition of everyday ideograms. This will enhance their comprehension of Chinese culture and enable effective interaction in social contexts.

General Information

• Instructors: Professors Tian Jinmin, Wang Yan, Yin Xienlu, and Shuai Zhang.
• Total Course Hours: 44 hours.
• Course Format: Virtual.
• Platform: VooV Meeting.
• Class Schedule: Two classes per week, each lasting two hours (for Turmas 1A, 2A, 1B, 2B), or one class per week lasting four hours (for Turmas 1C and 2C).
• Number of Classes: Six, divided into two evening and one daytime class for each level.
• Capacity: Up to 35 participants per class.
• Target Audience: Undergraduate and graduate students, recent graduates (within one year), professors, and technical-administrative staff from institutions associated with GCUB.
• Certification: Participants will receive a certificate of completion.
• Additional Opportunity: Participants in Level 2 classes are encouraged to take the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi HSK2 exam on November 23, 2025, also in virtual mode.

Enrollment Fee

• Early Registration (until September 5, 2025): R$ 400.00.
• Late Registration (September 6 to 12, 2025): R$ 440.00.
• Note: There will be no refund in case of withdrawal.

Enrollment Criteria

• Selection Basis: Order of registration.
• Required Affiliation: Applicants must be affiliated with institutions associated with GCUB (students, professors, technicians, researchers, and recent graduates).
• Prerequisite for Level 2: Completion of Chinese 1 or equivalent knowledge (HSK 1).

Registration Deadline

Until September 12, 2025, at 5:00 PM (BRT).

Class Schedules

Level 1

• Turma 1A: Evening, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, from September 15 to November 26, 2025.
• Turma 1B: Evening, Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, from September 16 to December 2, 2025 (no class on November 20, national holiday).
• Turma 1C: Daytime, Saturdays, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, from September 20 to November 29, 2025.

Level 2

• Turma 2A: Evening, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, from September 15 to November 26, 2025.
• Turma 2B: Evening, Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, from September 16 to December 2, 2025 (no class on November 20, national holiday).
• Turma 2C: Daytime, Saturdays, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, from September 20 to November 29, 2025.
