The Dissemination of Nuclear Engineering Applications in the field of environmental sustainability is a program that aims to integrate nuclear and atomic applications into the academic-scientific theme of environmental sustainability.
Program Description
In its Tenth Edition, the program is part of BR Marinas' Environment Week, which incorporates World Ocean Day into its agenda, aligning with the UN's Ocean Decade. The event is supported by various organizations, including N·cleo de Vida Marinha, Environmental Education Center of Rio de Janeiro's State Environment Department, and UNESCO Chair for Ocean Sustainability. The program focuses on raising awareness about the importance of oceans in mitigating climate change, debating biodiversity and ocean potentials, and integrating science, education, public policies, and civil society.
Program Activities
- The program includes an Environmental Awareness action, which involves a major Clean-Up Campaign focusing on solid waste in the surroundings of Marina da Gl¾ria, including Marine Litter.
- The Clean-Up Campaign will be carried out with the participation of volunteers.
Program Context
The program is coordinated by INAYA CORREA BARBOSA LIMA and is part of a broader initiative to promote environmental sustainability and awareness about the importance of oceans in mitigating climate change.
