Aims and Content

Learning Outcomes

Acquire theoretical, scientific, and professional knowledge in the fields of first diagnostic framing (both intra and extra-hospital) as first treatment of medical, surgical, and traumatic urgencies in podology.


Aims and Learning Outcomes

  • To acquire knowledge and practical skills for the first aid approach to cardiac arrest and to the use of AED; first aid for wounds, hemorrhages, burns, and trauma.
  • To be able to recognize the most common diseases in Internal Medicine.

Teaching Methods

  • Lectures (in presence or online) with audiovisual support.
  • Interactive lectures (if feasible).

Syllabus/Content

  • First aid and initial treatment of cardiac arrest, with notions on the semi-automatic external defibrillator.
  • Technical knowledge and manual skills of first aid in case of wounds, hemorrhages, burns, and trauma.
  • Dyspnea.
  • Chest pain (etiopathogenesis, elements of electrocardiography, e.c.g. and enzymatic monitoring, therapeutic basis of ischemic heart disease).
  • Loss of consciousness (syncope, seizure, coma, pseudo-coma).
  • Shock (cardiogenic, hypovolemic, anaphylactic, septic, neurogenic).
  • Hypertensive emergency.
  • Thrombosis-thromboembolism.
  • Acute abdomen.
