OVERVIEW
First aid and management of minor emergencies during physical and sports activities.
AIMS AND CONTENT
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Knowledge: Basic theoretical knowledge of first aid principles and the organization of the emergency medical system.
- Understanding of the main pathologies and traumatic conditions that can occur in sports settings, including injuries, hemorrhages, fractures, and cardiac arrest.
- Theoretical knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques and the use of the semi-automated external defibrillator (AED).
- Management of airway obstruction management.
- Application of Knowledge: The student will be able to promptly recognize a medical emergency and correctly activate the emergency response chain (112/118).
- The student will be able to appropriately manage injuries and wounds while awaiting qualified assistance, limiting risks to both the operator and the patient.
- The student will be able to adapt first aid interventions to the specifics of the physical/sporting context.
TEACHING METHODS
The course consists of 10 hours of theoretical lectures.
