Program Overview
JOURNALISTIC CRITICISM OF THE ARTS
Overview
The Discipline, specifically conceived for this course of study, wants to train future communicators or journalists on the language and ways of journalistic criticism on visual arts, theater, cinema, music to be given through the most updated information channels (web tv, social, blog).
Aims and Content
Learning Outcomes
The acquisition of critics of the arts own language is the teaching purpose, through the reading and discussion of critical essays in daily and in the trade press. Exercises and collaborative writing workshops online are planned.

At the end of the course, students will be able to videotape a cultural content specifically created on a dedicated web space.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the history of visual arts is required.
Teaching Methods
The teaching will be in the presence, in class and outside, with the support of field exercises (theaters, exhibitions, museums, cultural events).
Syllabus/Content
- Knowledge of the basics of cultural journalism and cultural journalism on the web.
- Cultural journalism in the city, filming, reviews. Written or video exercise.
- Non-attending students will also study 15 articles by Melania Mazzucco, The Museum of the World on line.

Exam Description
Brief oral exam on the texts, the examination will consider video tutorials created by students during the course.
Assessment Methods
Correction in the presence of texts and prepared recordings, and brief talk on the exam papers.

Further Information
Examinations will be held in presence and in the lecturer's office.
Erasmus students not proficient in Italian may request a substitutive bibliography, and take the examination in English (or French).
