Educational Objectives

The program aims to:


  • Promote healthy lifestyles through educational processes in health promotion for individuals and communities.
  • Provide knowledge of basic medical semiotics maneuvers.
  • Identify and apply nursing interventions, identify the main responsibilities of the obstetrician in prevention, and recognize risk factors.
  • Acquire fundamental knowledge related to the general science of education and cultural training of the human being.

Detailed Educational Objectives and Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to:


  • Know the concepts of prevention and related tools
  • Know the basis of the reconditioning process of multi-use medical devices
  • Know the anatomy of the pelvic floor, risk factors for the onset of dysfunctions, and various techniques for treatment
  • Know the physiology of menopause and acquire competencies to provide appropriate health education for the prevention of risks related to this phase of a woman's life
  • Know the screening of cervical cancer and mammography in its diagnostic-therapeutic process
  • Know and prevent sexually transmitted diseases
  • Plan, organize, and conduct a sexual education intervention in schools according to good health education practices
  • Impose and execute a basic care plan addressed to the obstetric-gynecological patient who is not or partially self-sufficient with the production and use of related checklists
  • Know the techniques and purposes of infection prevention methods
  • Know the purpose, meaning, and execution technique of the main general and specific obstetric-gynecological diagnostic or instrumental exams
  • Maintain, enhance, and promote the health of the individual and the community through primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention
  • Apply pedagogical knowledge to health prevention
