Program Overview
GEOMATICA
The GEOMATICA course provides the basic tools necessary for spatial knowledge of the territory, addressing the main methodologies for local surveys, reference systems, and technical cartography for eventual framing. Elements of observation processing provide the basis for controlling the campaigns carried out and the results obtained.
Presentation
The course offers a formative approach to engineering topics in a broad sense, starting from organizational aspects to reach interpretative ones of the results obtained. It provides the basic tools necessary for spatial knowledge of the territory, introducing students to topographic topics expressed in a local context.
Objectives and Contents
Educational Objectives
The course aims to provide the basic tools necessary for spatial knowledge of the territory, introducing students to topographic topics. It represents a formative approach to engineering topics in a broad sense, starting from organizational aspects to reach interpretative ones of the results obtained.
Detailed Educational Objectives and Learning Outcomes
Students will acquire the basic tools for territorial surveying in a local context and observation processing for analysis and control of the measurement campaigns carried out.
Teaching Methods
The course includes lectures (approximately 40 hours) and exercises (approximately 20 hours) related to field survey experiences, their elaboration, and cartographic framing.

Exams
Exam Methods
The learning proofs will be carried out through self-assessment tools made during the course and, at the end of the course, through a written (numerical) and oral test.
Modalities of Assessment
The written test will verify the ability to interpret a problem to reach its solution. The oral test will verify the understanding of the comprehensive geomatic approach and the critical sense to be applied to the technical report.
