  • Educational Objectives (Detail):
    • Framework of the main pathological conditions of Urgency/Emergency Medicine in Critical Area
    • Know the principles for managing emergency and urgent clinical situations, applying the necessary first aid interventions.
  • Expected Learning Outcomes: In particular, at the end of the course, the student will know the basic notions of the main problems of Emergency Medicine, will recognize the person with acute medical pathology who requires immediate intervention, will critically evaluate the care of the person at risk of survival or with high instability in the maintenance of vital functions. He will distinguish the basic elements of the main classes of drugs used in emergencies, he will recognize the variability of response, the signs and symptoms of adverse effects. The student will recognize and critically evaluate the peculiarities of the critical area in the area of ​​Emergency Medicine.

Prerequisites

The knowledge acquired in previous curricular courses of those pathologies in the internal medicine (cardiology, pneumology) and neurological fields that may have presentation or potential treatment in the context of critical care nursing management

  • Dyspnea (diagnosis and therapy)
  • Chest pain (etiopathogenesis, elements of electrocardiography, e.c.g. and enzymatic monitoring, therapeutic bases of ischemic heart disease)
  • Loss of consciousness (syncope, epileptic seizure, coma, pseudo-coma)
  • Shock (cardiogenic, hypovolemic, anaphylactic, septic, neurogenic)
  • Hypertensive emergency
