Program Overview
Program Overview
The Laboratorio di Disegno program is designed to teach drawing from a semantic perspective, focusing on the development of a language that enables effective communication and project realization. The program aims to provide students with the skills to observe, comprehend, and represent the essential characteristics, components, geometry, proportions, and ergonomic features of objects and spaces.
Objectives and Contents
Educational Objectives
The program proposes a practical and experimental approach to acquire expressive skills in the field of representation. The curriculum is designed to develop research and graphic projects, verifying results progressively. Particular attention is dedicated to the knowledge and control of objects of various dimensions, pursued through graphic analysis of forms, mechanisms, and colors of materials.
Detailed Educational Objectives and Learning Outcomes
The educational path begins with improving students' manual skills to confer greater expressive security to their graphic sign. Representation must become an immediate tool for translating and communicating thoughts and projects effectively.
Prerequisites
The program has a propaedeutic requirement, meaning that it is a prerequisite for other courses.
Teaching Methods
The program consists of 100 hours, divided into:
- 20 frontal lessons/seminars on descriptive geometry and representation techniques
- Exercises and projects to apply the concepts learned
Program Content
The program will cover various topics, including:
- Techniques of representation: pencil, pastels, ink, pen, pantones, and hatching
- Descriptive geometry: orthogonal projections, exercises on solid compositions
- Orthogonal projections: true form, exercises on representing the true form of an object
- Successive projections, exercise on representing an object
- Orthogonal projection, solid interpenetration
- Axonometric projections
- Theory of shadows
- Descriptive geometry: perspective
- Theory and practices of representation: structural theory of colors, perception, Gestalt theory
- Lettering and typeface poster
- Analog rendering of a promotional poster
- Object survey for the final elaboration
- Lesson on object survey for the final elaboration in A1 format - study of compositional schemes
- Extempore drawing test from life at Ikea
