PSICOLOGIA DELL'EDUCAZIONE

Introduction

The Psychology of Education is concerned with the psychological functioning of individuals experiencing an educational and training context. The course aims to provide basic knowledge and examples of how a psychologist can operate in relation to educational and training contexts.


Objectives and Contents

Educational Objectives

The course is designed to:


  1. Provide knowledge of the main contents of the psychology of education.
  2. Provide examples of actions that can be taken by a psychologist operating in educational contexts.
  3. Stimulate the acquisition of skills useful for operating in educational contexts.

Detailed Educational Objectives and Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students are expected to:


  • Know and understand concepts and theoretical models in the field of psychology of education.
  • Be able to apply the acquired knowledge to analyze situations and projects.
  • Be able to identify modes of action according to possible situations and interlocutors.
  • Develop reflective and communicative skills suitable for their role.
  • Take into account the complexity of their intervention area and show autonomy of judgment and independent reasoning ability.
  • Increase their ability to learn in order to deepen and update their knowledge autonomously.

Prerequisites

The program of the teaching of developmental psychology and the essential elements of general psychology and cognitive processes are assumed to be acquired.


Teaching Methods

In addition to frontal lessons, participatory teaching methodologies will be used.


Program/Content

The program includes: introduction to the psychology of education, the concept of learning, learning contexts, school learning, variables that affect the learning process (motivation, metacognition, self-regulation), individual differences, relationships in the learning context, and school well-being.
