Program Overview
The program in Geriatria e Gerontologia is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the traditional topics in Geriatrics, including demography, epidemiology, theories of aging, and the effects of age on specific organs and tissues. The program also covers new challenges in traditional medicine that Geriatrics is facing and attempting to resolve.
Objectives and Contents
Educational Objectives
The program aims to provide students with the acquisition of specific language in the discipline, the ability to explain biological processes and physiology of aging, and the principles of Geriatrics and Gerontology. Students will learn to identify and manage the geriatric patient, including those with fragility, and understand nutritional concepts and hospital risks related to the diversity of the geriatric patient.
Teaching Methods
The course is held in the second year, second semester, through frontal lessons using slide projections.

- The exam cannot be taken if the relative propaedeuticity has not been respected.
- Since these are integrated course exams, failing a single discipline requires repeating the entire exam.
