ANATOMIA PATOLOGICA
Course Description
The Anatomia Patologica course is a unique didactic model in the school, representing a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to the study of pathological anatomy, particularly in the context of obstetrics and gynecology. This course integrates frontal lessons on pathological anatomy with those on gynecology and obstetrics, allowing for an active dialogue and exchange of observations between instructors of both disciplines.
Objectives and Contents
Educational Objectives
The primary objective of this course is to provide students with a deep understanding of pathological anatomy, focusing on its application in obstetrics and gynecology. This includes the study of normal and pathological structures, the mechanisms of disease, and the correlation between clinical and pathological findings.
Detailed Educational Objectives and Learning Outcomes
The course covers a wide range of topics, including:
- The pathology of the placenta and fetal membranes
- Pathological conditions of the uterus during pregnancy
- Lesions of the vulva, vagina, cervix, and endometrium
- Neoplastic lesions of the female genital tract
- Inflammatory and dystrophic lesions of the vulva and vagina
Students are expected to acquire knowledge and understanding of these topics, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge in solving problems and making decisions in clinical practice.
Teaching Methods
Frontal Teaching Activity
The program is delivered through a series of lectures, with a total of x lessons, corresponding to x CFU (University Formative Credits).
Elective Didactic Activity (ADE)
Students are also offered the opportunity to participate in an autopsy, focusing on the diagnostic examination of a fetus or neonate, to gain practical experience in pathological anatomy.

- The endometrial cycle and its disorders
- Anomalies of implantation and placentation
- Pathology of the placenta, including infarcts and infections
- Pathological conditions of the uterus during pregnancy
- Lesions of the vulva, vagina, cervix, and endometrium
- Neoplastic lesions of the female genital tract
- Inflammatory and dystrophic lesions of the vulva and vagina

Exam Method
The exam is oral, assessing the student's ability to apply knowledge and communicate effectively.
Assessment Method
The exam verifies the achievement of the expected learning outcomes, including the ability to describe solutions to problems and demonstrate acquired competencies based on the course program.
In case of the teacher's absence, 30 targeted questions with multiple-choice answers will be administered to candidates during the comprehensive exam of the Integrated Course.
