Program Overview

The integrated course in Immunology and Biotechnological Drugs is divided into a module of Immunology (6 CFU) and three modules of Biotechnological Drugs (3 CFU). The course aims to integrate the study of immunology and immunopathology with knowledge of innovative techniques for generating biotechnological drugs that can use components of the immune system itself or modulate its activity in the context of various pathological conditions.

Exams

Examination Methods

For the Immunology module, the exam consists of an oral test and takes place in the presence of the course teachers. The interview lasts about 30 minutes for each student and focuses on the program carried out during the lessons. Through the discussion of various topics, the Commission verifies the achievement of the educational objectives foreseen by the course.

The student must pass the Immunology exam to access the other tests, which will take place on a single date. The score obtained in the Immunology test will be valid for 1 solar year, during which the student must pass the exam related to the other modules.

For the other 3 modules (3 CFU in total), the exam will take place through a written test with 3 open questions concerning the topics of all three modules, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes. To pass this test, the student must have obtained a pass in all three modules; otherwise, they will have to repeat the entire written test.

The exam calendar provides for appeals with distinct dates for the two exam tests.

The final grade is derived from the weighted average of the partial grades obtained in the two tests and from the overall judgment on the candidate. A grade of 30/30 with honors will be awarded when the knowledge/competencies of the subject are excellent.

Verification Methods

The verification of learning takes place through the final exams, which aim to ascertain the actual acquisition by the student of the expected learning outcomes. For more information, consult the schedules of the individual modules.
