LLB Law with International Foundation Year

The LLB Law with International Foundation Year is a four-year program designed for international students who do not currently hold the correct qualifications to undertake an undergraduate law degree. This program is highly practical and will prepare students to cope with the demands of undergraduate study.

Overview

The program is designed to equip students with law-specific and general study skills, enabling them to progress onto the accredited three-year LLB Law program upon successful completion of the foundation year. The foundation year, also known as Year 0, includes a module in law and is designed to help students develop their legal knowledge and gain real-life experience.

Entry Requirements

The typical offers for the program are expressed in terms of A level, BTEC, and International Baccalaureate requirements. However, the university also accepts many other qualifications. The specific entry requirements include:

• AS and A Levels: 72 UCAS tariff points
• International Baccalaureate: 24 points from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or International Baccalaureate Certificate
• GCSE: Grades 9–4 (A*–C) in five subjects, or equivalent qualifications
• International Baccalaureate: 26 points overall
• IELTS: IELTS of 5.5 with no component below 5.5

Fees

The fees for the program are as follows:

• New UK/Republic of Ireland students: N/A
• New international students: £23,000 for 2026/27 Foundation year, then rising to the standard course fees for the duration of the bachelor's level study

Careers

The program provides students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their careers. The university offers help with CV writing, placement applications, and interview techniques, and hosts regular employer visits, alumni conversations, and career talks. Overall, 90% of graduates from Law are in work or further study within 15 months of graduation.
