BSc Quantity Surveying

The BSc Quantity Surveying program at the University of Reading is designed to prepare students for a successful career in quantity surveying. The program is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Building, and the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia.

The program focuses on the mechanisms that determine the cost and price of construction, and how projects can be completed on time, to specification, and within budget. Flexible Course Options

The program structure provides an opportunity to explore a range of construction-related disciplines prior to specializing in the final year. Students will be able to transfer onto other programs, such as BSc Building Surveying or BSc Construction Management, at the end of their second year if they wish to do so.


Placements

The program includes a successful placement scheme that establishes a balance between outstanding academic achievements and relevant industrial experience. Students will have the option to carry out a paid industrial training placement between their second and final year, which can vary from four to sixteen weeks.


Scholarships

Students who join the BSc Quantity Surveying program in 2026 will have the opportunity to secure an annual £1,000 scholarship for each of the three years of the undergraduate degree, subject to conditions.

Entry Requirements

The typical offer for the program is BBB at A level. International students will need to meet the English language requirements, which are IELTS 6.5, with no component below 5.5.


Fees

The home tuition fee for 2026 entry is £9,790, and the international tuition fee is £30,650. The fees are subject to annual increases in subsequent years of study.
