On Campus or Distance Learning

If you wish to study on campus and require a visa to study in the UK, you will need to provide proof of your language level with a Secure English Language Test (SELT) certificate. The most well-known test is UKVI IELTS. If you wish to study on a distance-learning course, we also accept tests such as Academic IELTS, Pearson PTE, Duolingo, and the Test of English for Educational Purposes (TEEP).

Pre-sessional Results and Visa Application

Your Pre-sessional results are sent to the Admissions Team in the week commencing 7 September 2026. If you need to resit any of the assessments, your resit results will be sent in the week commencing 14 September 2026. As long as you have accepted your main course academic offer, paid the deposit for this, and all other conditions have been met, you will then receive your main course Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).

Target IELTS Level of 7.0 or Higher

If your English language requirement is a 7.0 overall with no less than 6.0 in each skill, or is another requirement not listed above, we will recommend the most appropriate course on a case-by-case basis.

Combined Offer or Single-Entry Visa

A Combined Offer (CAS) or single-entry visa covers your Pre-sessional English course and your main course of study. All applicants studying on the campus 10-week or 6-week Pre-sessional English course will be considered for a Combined CAS.
