Introduction to the International Foundation Programme

The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is a one-year standalone foundation programme designed for international students. As a University of Reading student from day one, participants have access to all academic, social, and sports facilities. With over 40 years of experience in running the IFP, the programme is taught and supported by a team of experienced experts.

Overview of the International Foundation Programme

The IFP offers a pathway to a wide range of undergraduate degrees, including degrees at Henley Business School, law, computer science, quantity surveying, and many more. Participants are taught by subject experts at the University of Reading and have access to individual tutorial support from the International Foundation Pathways team.

Programme Structure

The IFP offers two entry points within the year:

• September
• January All modules are taught on the September-start IFP, whereas the January-start option offers a limited selection of modules. To progress onto a science degree, participants must apply for the International Foundation Programme, September start.

International Foundation Programme - September Start

The IFP September start is the standard International Foundation Programme, which runs from September to June each year. Participants study academic skills and subjects relating to their intended degree, and, depending on their English language skills, they may have to take the Academic English module. Upon successful completion and meeting any further entry requirements, participants are guaranteed the opportunity of a place on their undergraduate course at the University of Reading, including Henley Business School.

International Foundation Programme - January Start

The IFP January start date is also available as an option. This JanuaryAugust option provides the same quality and benefits as the SeptemberJune IFP, enabling participants to progress to most degrees within the University of Reading, including Henley Business School. However, to progress onto a science degree, participants must apply for the IFP September start. Participants study academic skills and subjects relating to their intended degree, and, depending on their English language skills, they may have to take the Academic English module. Upon successful completion and meeting any further entry requirements, participants are guaranteed the opportunity of a place on their undergraduate course at the University of Reading, including Henley Business School.
