LLM International Commercial Law with International Corporate Finance

The LLM International Commercial Law with International Corporate Finance develops your knowledge of commercial law and gives you a detailed and unique awareness and expertise in corporate finance. Choose to start in September or the following February.

Overview

This program is offered by the University of Reading, the UK's 17th highest ranked law school for employer reputation and the joint 25th highest ranked UK law school. You will develop multi-dimensional knowledge of the core issues in international corporate finance at national, international, and trans-national levels, and choose from modules offered from the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA centre), a purpose-built centre of academic and professional training in finance.

Entry Requirements

• Normally a good undergraduate honours degree (2.1 or above) in Law, Economics, Finance, and Business Finance or equivalent from a university outside the UK.
• Applicants who have a 2.2 plus 3 years relevant work experience (and/or have passed the Bar exam) will also be considered.
• Applicants who have a 2.2 with less experience and/or higher marks in some law modules may also be considered and are welcome to apply.
• IELTS: 6.5 overall with no element less than 5.5 (or equivalent).
• Pre-sessional English language Programme: For international students who need to meet their degree programme English language requirements.

Structure

Compulsory Modules

• Advanced International Commercial Law Issues: Develop a critical understanding of the different types of contractual relationships that may take place within the firm, the market, or other hybrid forms of governance.
• Dissertation: Develop high-level skills in research design, management, and implementation as you embark on a major independent research project.

Optional Modules

• Research Methods for LLM students: Formulate a research question for your dissertation and identify an appropriate methodological approach for your research.
• Research Methods (Advanced): Engage with the process of designing, refining, and executing your research projects.

Fees

• New UK/Republic of Ireland students: ｣11,750
• New international students: ｣25,850
• Tuition fee information: The fees listed are for full-time study, unless otherwise stated.
• EU student fees: With effect from 1 August 2021, new EU students will pay international tuition fees.
• Additional costs: Some courses will require additional payments for field trips and extra resources.
• Financial support for your studies: You may be eligible for a scholarship or bursary to help pay for your study.
