BSc Finance (International Business) with Placement Year

The BSc Finance (International Business) with Placement Year degree is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of finance and the financial services industry, as well as valuable real-world experience through a one-year industry placement.

Flexible Study Options

After the first year, students have the option to transfer to other specialist pathways, including BSc Finance (Investments), BSc Finance (FinTech), and BSc Finance (Sustainable Finance). Students can also transfer to the general BSc Finance course or BSc Finance (International Business) with Study Year Abroad.

Placement Year in Industry

Learning

Entry Requirements

• A Level: ABB
• Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ): BBB in A-level subjects and B in EPQ
• International Baccalaureate: 32 points overall, including minimum 5 in Maths and 4 in English at standard level
• GCSE: 4 in English and 6 in Maths if not done at A/AS level
• BTEC Extended Diploma: Not accepted unless studied alongside A-level or AS-level Maths
• English language requirements: IELTS 6.5, with no component below 5.5

Year 3 (Placement Year)

Students spend a year in industry, developing their knowledge, skills, and experience.

Year 4

• Management of Risk
• Derivative Securities
• Strategy and International Business

• Optional modules, including Data Science for Finance, Trends in Finance, and Sustainable Finance

Fees

• New UK/Republic of Ireland students: £9,790 (2026 entry)
• New international students: £30,650 (2026/27)
• Placement year fees: 15% of usual tuition fee
