Program Overview
Senior Mental Health Leads Training
The Charlie Waller Institute, in collaboration with Charlie Waller Trust, offers the Department of Education approved Senior Mental Health Leads training to all educational settings across the country.
Format of Training
The training consists of 40 hours of CPD, plus optional top-up live sessions. Coaching is provided for each delegate, up to 2 hours.
- Introduction: Live half-day online session
- Online modules:
- Pre-recorded webinars from professionals with experience in Mental Health and Wellbeing roles
- Resources, including evidence-based and best practice examples
- Discussion board to connect with the University Programme team and other Senior Mental Health Leads
- Remote meeting rooms to access other Senior Mental Health Leads
- Access to a coach for up to 2 hours to support practical applications
- Modules:
- Leadership and Management
- Enabling student voice
- Ethos and environment
- Curriculum, teaching and learning
- Staff Development
- Working with parents/carers
- Targeted Support and Appropriate Referrals
- Identifying need and monitoring impact
- Conclusion: Bringing together the training and next steps, live half-day online session
