Introduction

The Maastricht University Opleiding tot Registeraccountant (MURA) is a postdoctoral program for students who want to develop into an official Register Accountant (RA). This program is suitable for individuals with a master's degree who want to further their education and career in accounting.

The MURA is a small-scale program that focuses on broader knowledge areas, skills, and competencies required for a register accountant to function in their modern role. The program provides an excellent preparation for the accounting practice and is unique in the Netherlands.

Students who complete the program and pass the practical exam can register as a register accountant and use the title RA. The program also prepares students for the Certified Information Systems Auditor qualification, allowing them to obtain an IT Auditor qualification.
