Program Overview


Introduction to Path to the Plains

Path to the Plains (P2P) is a concurrent enrollment program offered by Auburn University and partner Alabama community college institutions. This program is designed for students who want to transfer to Auburn to finish their bachelor's degrees once they have completed their associate's degrees. It is only available to Alabama residents.


Program Options

  • In-Person: The in-person P2P option is available through Southern Union State Community College. During the first two years of the program, Alabama resident students complete general education classes toward an associate's degree at SUSCC while also taking at least one course at Auburn each semester.
    • Partner Institution: Southern Union State Community College
    • Program Structure: Students take general education classes at SUSCC and at least one course at Auburn each semester
  • Remote: The remote P2P option is available through two Alabama community colleges: Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in south Alabama, and Jefferson State Community College based in Birmingham, AL. During the first two years of the program, students complete general education classes toward an associate's degree at one of these institutions while also taking at least one course online through Auburn each semester.

    • Program Structure: Students take general education classes at the partner institution and at least one online course at Auburn each semester

Program Details

Eligibility

The program is only available to Alabama residents who are pursuing an associate's degree at one of the partner community colleges.


Program Duration

The program is designed to be completed in two years, during which time students will complete general education classes toward an associate's degree and take courses at Auburn University.


Transfer to Auburn

Upon completion of the associate's degree, students can transfer to Auburn University to finish their bachelor's degrees.
