Program Overview
Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's Program in Poultry Science
The Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's Program (ABM) in Poultry Science offers outstanding students the opportunity to earn both the bachelor's and master's degrees in less time and at less cost than usual. This program allows exceptional students to count up to 9 hours toward both the bachelor's and master's degrees.
Program Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science, with either the Production Option or the Pre-Vet Option, can lead to a Master of Science in Poultry Science or a Master of Agriculture in Poultry Science in the ABM track.
Approved Courses for the ABM Program
The following courses are approved for the ABM program:
- POUL 6020: Principles of Animal Feed Manufacturing (replaces POUL 5020 or POUL 5070)
- POUL 6030: Advanced Commercial Poultry Production (replaces POUL 5030)
- POUL 6050: Advanced Poultry Feeding (replaces POUL 5050)
- POUL 6080: Advanced Poultry Health (replaces POUL 5080)
- POUL 6110: Poultry Processing (replaces POUL 5110)
- POUL 6140: Poultry Further Processing and Products (replaces POUL 5140)
- POUL 6160: Advanced Principles of Food Safety (replaces POUL 5160)
- FDSC 7430: Flavor Chemistry (replaces Science Elective or Free Elective)
- FDSC 7730: Sensory Evaluation (replaces Science Elective or Free Elective)
Senior Year for Students in the ABM Program
The senior year for students in the ABM program includes the following courses:

- POUL 5050: Poultry Feeding
- POUL 5110: Poultry Processing
- POUL 5080: Poultry Health
- STAT 2510: Statistics for Biological and Health Sciences
- Science Elective
- Spring:
- POUL 3030: Commercial Poultry Production
- POUL 5160: Principles of Food Safety
- UNIV 4AA0: Achieve the Creed
- POUL 5030: Advanced Commercial Poultry Production
- Free Elective or ROTC
Accelerated Master of Science in Poultry Science
The fifth year of the program includes the following courses:
