Introduction to Science Matters Camp
The Science Matters Camp is a summer STEM program designed for elementary-age children, providing them with engaging, interactive learning experiences. The program is hosted by the College of Sciences and Mathematics Outreach office and features collaborations with the AU Museum of Natural History (AUMNH).
Program Details
The Science Matters Camp offers week-long enrichment programs for students entering grades one through seven. The camp runs weekly from June 2 to July 18 and features themed sessions, including:
- Prehistoric creatures
- Ocean exploration
- Space travel
- The physics of amusement parks Each week, students participate in age-appropriate programs that blend learning with creativity and exploration.

One of the camp's most popular sessions, Curious Curators, gives students the opportunity to participate in real biodiversity fieldwork, collecting and curating specimens from swamps, forests, and fields alongside museum scientists.
