Program Overview


Bachelor of Arts in Geography

The Bachelor of Arts in Geography program offers students a comprehensive understanding of the relationships between human and physical environments. The program provides a broad geographical education, along with opportunities for specialization in specific fields of geography.


Program Structure

The program consists of 120 credit hours, with 51 credit hours in Geography. Students must complete a minor in a subject field different from their declared major. The minor may be chosen from one of the other programs in the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth, and Resources or any program at the University that offers a minor.


Admission Requirements

Admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Geography program requires a minimum of 24 credit hours of university-level coursework, with a cumulative grade point average of 2.00. Students must also complete the University's Written English and Mathematics requirements.


Course Requirements

The program includes a range of courses in human and physical geography, as well as techniques and area studies. Students must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours in five subject fields, with 6 credit hours in each field. They must also complete 6 credit hours from the Faculty of Arts and 6 credit hours of science coursework.

  • Culture, Identity, and Space (CIS)

Graduation Requirements

Advanced Entry Requirements
