Program Overview
Bachelor of Arts in Geography
The Bachelor of Arts in Geography program offers students a comprehensive understanding of the discipline, with a focus on human-environment relations, location/place, and space/distance. The program provides a basic level of understanding of the discipline and its inter-relationships, with opportunities for specialization in a particular field of Geography.
Program Structure
The program consists of 90 credit hours, with 30 credit hours in Geography. Students must complete a Geography (Major) component, which varies in credit hour requirement depending on the degree program. Advanced and General degree students must complete a Minor in a subject field that is different from that of the declared major.
Degree Requirements
To qualify for the degree Bachelor of Arts in Geography, students must complete 90 credit hours, including all course requirements, a chosen minor field, the requirements in the five subject fields, and areas of Humanities, Arts, and sciences. Students must also satisfy the Riddell Faculty regulations, with a minimum performance requirement of a 2.00 Grade Point Average.
Courses
The program offers a range of courses, including Introduction to Human Geography, Introduction to Physical Geography, and Social Justice in the 21st Century. Students can also choose from a variety of elective courses, such as Geography of Natural Resources, Weather and Climate, and Geomorphology.

Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a B.A. Geography degree, students must achieve a minimum degree Grade Point Average of 2.00 and complete all program requirements.
