The Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship is a one-year program designed for orthopedic professionals seeking to elevate their expertise in arthroplasty. Fellowship Details

Hands-on Learning

During your fellowship, you will gain hands-on experience in a variety of cutting-edge surgical techniques, including:


  • Primary hip and knee replacement: Master both cemented and uncemented implants to suit various patient needs.
  • Surgical approaches: Learn multiple approaches for hip surgery, including direct anterior, lateral, and posterior techniques.
  • Robotic-assisted knee replacement: Utilize advanced robotic technology for precise and effective knee replacements.
  • Unicondylar arthroplasty: Explore partial knee replacement techniques that can significantly enhance recovery and mobility for patients.

With approximately 2,800 primary and revision hip and knee replacements performed annually by the Concordia Joint Replacement Group (CJRG), you will gain invaluable experience in a high-volume setting.

You'll also work in our implant retrieval laboratory, where you can retrieve and study implants to improve patient outcomes. International Medical Graduates (IMGs)

If you are an IMG, you must:


  • Be a medical doctor from a medical school listed in the FAIMER directory.
  • Submit ONE of the following documents:
    • IELTS Academic Version: Taken within the last 24 months, Minimum score: 7.0 in each component (same sitting)
    • Occupational English Test – Medicine (OET-Medicine): Minimum grade: B in each subset (same sitting)
    • CELPIP-General Test: Minimum score: 9 in each skill (same sitting)
