Women in Academic Leadership

The Women in Academic Leadership program is designed for women who aspire to become academic leaders in higher education. This program aims to enhance leadership potential and build a network of like-minded individuals.

Course Description

The Women in Academic Leadership program was created for women who will become the next academic leaders. The program focuses on building leadership skills and addressing unique issues that women may face in the higher education environment. It is designed for women who have achieved an early to mid-level of academic leadership and are now seeking to reach higher levels of academic leadership.

Delivery Methods

The program is delivered online using a range of synchronous and asynchronous technologies to facilitate building a community of practice to learn and network. This approach provides accessibility regardless of time, travel, and budget constraints, and is also a sustainable option that helps reduce carbon footprint.

Program Details

The program consists of seven synchronous sessions, which will be highly interactive, incorporating group work, case studies, and breakout room discussions. Participants will learn from women leaders in higher education, meet in small groups with mentors, and participate in a 360 self-assessment.

Fees

The program fee is $3,150 plus GST, although pricing is subject to change without notice.

Nomination Process

Women in academic administration positions are generally selected and sponsored to participate in the program by their home institutions. The program encourages universities and colleges to support women from diverse groups to create a community of leaders more reflective of the Canadian environment. Individuals who have been selected by their home institution should apply as soon as possible, as enrollment is limited.
