Introduction to the Bachelor of Jurisprudence Program

The Bachelor of Jurisprudence (B. Juris) is an academic degree that does not include the study of procedural and practical courses. This degree is recognized by the Public Service Department (JPA) and the Malaysian Legal Professional Qualification Board as qualifying holders to take the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) examination.

• Examinations for this degree are held once a year at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.
• Students can answer examination questions in either Malay or English.

Registration and Enrollment

• A student is considered registered for the B. Juris degree upon meeting all requirements set by the University and paying the prescribed fees.
• Students are required to make their own preparations for learning and tuition.
• They must also make full preparations for examinations through private study.

Facilities and Resources

• Students of the B. Juris program are not allowed to attend lectures, seminars, and tutorials held for internal students at the University of Malaya.
• They are allowed to use the University of Malaya Law Library to obtain information and facilities after paying the library fees.

• Private study and self-preparation are required for examinations.
