Bachelor of Real Estate
Overview
The Bachelor of Real Estate program was established in 1996 with the aim of producing graduates who are professional, holistic, balanced, and ethical in the field of real estate. The program enables graduates to perform real estate consultancy effectively and face technical and management challenges in both national and global contexts. It has received accreditation from local and international bodies, including the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers Malaysia (BOVAEP) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) United Kingdom.
Program Structure
The program structure comprises a full-time study term of 3½ years, with successful completion conferring a Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate. The total credit requirement is 124 credit hours, within a minimum period of 7+1 semesters and a maximum of 11 semesters. The breakdown includes:
- 12 credit hours of University courses
- 98 credit hours of program core courses
- 8 credits of Elective Courses
- 6 credits of Programme Elective courses Industrial Training is compulsory at the end of the course.

Accreditation
The Bachelor of Real Estate is accredited by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers Malaysia (BOVAEP) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) United Kingdom. This accreditation enables graduates to have the widest set of opportunities to work in the region and globally.
Course Details
- Course Duration: 3 ½ years, 7 semesters + 1 special semester
- Attendance Mode: Full Time only
- Course Module: The program covers real estate valuation, property management, property laws, investment, finance, estate agency, and real estate development.
Admission and Application
The program accepts applications from local and international students. For Malaysian students, there are two application options. The start of the program is in September/October every year.
Note
Upon graduation, to become a Registered Valuer, the candidate is required to accumulate a further 2 years of practical professional experience under the supervision of a Registered Valuer before sitting for the Test of Professional Competence (TPC) conducted by BOVAEP. Prior to this, the candidate is required to be provisionally registered with the Board during this entire period of training. Being an accredited program by the BOVAEP, the graduate of the Bachelor of Real Estate is eligible for direct registration with the Board as Probationary Valuer (PV) or Probationary Estate Agent (PEA).
