Program Overview
Education for Sustainable Development Programme
The Education for Sustainable Development Programme is a short-term mobility program that offers participants a first-hand experience on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in a new interactive way. This 2-week program covers a wide range of sustainability topics, including an introduction to the Sustainability@UM, Regional Centre of Expertise on ESD, EcoCampus living labs, citizen science, and actual sustainability intervention in different contexts.
Programme Overview
Participants will gain exposure to intellectual exchange and better understand the localization of ESD in Malaysia from the experience of Universiti Malaya, the oldest public university in Malaysia and Asia's Most Sustainable University in the City-Centre category in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. The program will foster networking among international participants while exploring future engagement opportunities in various forms.
Programme Fees
The program fee is USD2,000, which includes:

Exclusions
Flight tickets, travel and medical insurance, and living costs are to be borne by the students. Proof of purchase is required for travel insurance.
Minimum Participants
A minimum of 20 students is required for the programme to commence.

Programme Details
At the end of the program, participants will better understand the fundamental sustainability knowledge (both theory and practical) on Education for Sustainable Development. Participants will learn the uniqueness of sustainability practices in Malaysia through the localization of the sustainable development agenda. In the final week, participants will explore the ESD initiatives from the Regional Centre of Expertise on ESD network members (RCE Penang, RCE Iskandar, RCE Greater Gombak or RCE Kuching).
