The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme is designed to produce individuals who are not only intellectual and skilful in modern technology but also very versatile and capable of handling problems in real life situations.

The PhD is awarded based on the examination of a thesis, prepared under supervision, which represents an original and significant contribution to knowledge and comprehension in the chosen field of study. The PhD research project conducted in the department should be research of public health importance.

Application Process
To apply for the PhD programme:
- The application is open all year round, for the two intakes, i.e., Semester 1 (September/October) and Semester 2 (February/March).
- Students are advised to first identify suitable supervisors before applying for the programme.
- Complete the online application form.
- Upload all the required documents.
- A processing fee of RM50.00 (Malaysian) or USD60.00 (Foreign applicants) is applicable.
